Meeting Tula Pink at AQS QuiltWeek

It was a small business moment I won’t forget
Tula stopped by our booth during the show and immediately started shopping in the most satisfying way possible: decisively.
No overthinking. No “maybe later.”
She spotted things she loved and went for it, trusting she’d find the perfect use for them later. There was something really fun about watching someone shop so confidently and intuitively.
And yes—she bought Quilt Tattoo® Panels.
Not just one or two panels either. She picked up one Quilt Tattoo® design in every color, which felt surreal to watch happen in real time. She also grabbed our Starburst print, which I always hope people notice because it’s one of those designs that is just so fun to slice and dice.
But the part that really stuck with us happened after the show.
Later, she shared a video unpacking what she bought at the event and took the time to talk in detail about the things she picked up from our booth. As another business owner, that generosity meant a lot. She has a massive audience and absolutely did not have to spend time highlighting a much smaller studio like ours, but she did anyway.
That kind of support matters.
Independent creative businesses are built on people sharing work they genuinely love, telling their friends about something interesting they found, and making space for newer or smaller voices in the industry. Watching someone with her reach use that platform so thoughtfully was honestly very cool to see.
So thank you, Tula! For stopping by, for the conversation, for the enthusiastic shopping energy, and for sharing our work with your audience afterward. We’re still smiling about it over here in the studio.
And now we’re extremely curious to see where those Quilt Tattoos® end up.
